Enjoying Summer

I've been lazy about the Blog so far this summer. A big result of not downloading my camera often enough. We've been on the go alot. Mostly swimming & visiting with friends & family.

One of our local restaurants has Kids Night Tue. Tue is not a normal night for us to go out, but I've heard great things about what they do on Tue & Kids Eat Free, so I treated the girls to an evening out. They had clowns, balloons, face painting & DESSERT!!

The girls can not wait to go back!! For those of you in our area, it is at the Ale House. They always have Kids Night Tue.

Summer Fun! St Augustine Style

Every summer (for the past 4 years)we have joined a few other families for a beach weekend in St Augustine. We each have a Fu (from Fuzhou, Jiangxi), & as coincidences have it, each Fu now has a younger sister. Our Fus are now ages 7-9.

One family was in our travel grp, & we adopted our Fus together.

So, if you have a Fu & want to join us next summer, let me know!!!!

We met this bloggy friend while in St Augustine. Since then, she's become a Mommy....please go check out her adorable Hannah!!

And, my other very good friend is having an awesome raffle in her site to raise the remaining funds to travel & get her daughter. Check out her amazing give aways!!

Effects of the Economy

This economy is rough...
And, although I know there are many, many families struggling to keep afloat, this week it gained a face for me.
A fellow single mom, with 4 kiddos from China lost her home on July 1. Next week, she'll be laid off from her job. They have a tent & that's home for now.
Face it...she has a long uphill battle if things don't get even worse from here. I so wish I had a huge bank account to draw from, savings for a rainy day, because my friend is in a hurricane.
Please offer up a prayer of hope for her family & others who are on the brink of disaster.

Kayla update.....She's doing great! She was moved from Shands to an intensove rehab facility in Jacksonville about 2 weeks ago. She is rehabbing her speech & gross motor skills. Yea!!!
